FHI 360’s Contribution to AMR Containment via Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention and Control Interventions

The World Health Organization (WHO) rates the rising incidence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) as one of the top ten global public health challenges. Containing and controlling the spread of AMR is particularly challenging in resource-limited settings as often it is associated with weak infection prevention and control (IPC) measures and ineffective Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) strategies that lead to inappropriate use of antimicrobial medicines.

One Health Workshop Held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire to Strengthen Regional Collaboration

FHI 360 was pleased to participate in the recent Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) regional One Health workshop held in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire that brought together stakeholders from human, animal, and environmental health sectors to strengthen and operationalize regional One Health coordination and strategy.  We believe these collaborations to build a common One Health approach are essential to preventing and managing emerging infectious diseases.  The material below summarizes the workshop objectives and commitments from stakeholders.
