On November 3, 2023, we celebrated the eighth annual International One Health Day. This is a day that gives advocates and practitioners around the world a powerful voice to advocate for moving beyond segmented approaches to addressing global threats such as emerging zoonotic infectious diseases, antimicrobial resistance, climate change, and many other growing risks, and pivoting to a holistic approach for protecting and managing the health of people, animals, and the environment (One Health Commission, 2023).
The FHI 360 Emerging Infectious Disease and Health Security (EIDHS) division, through our respective projects and collaborations, will continue promoting a One Health approach in our work and by providing support to stakeholders who focus on balancing and optimizing the health of humans, animals, and their shared ecosystems.
